I received these emails recently and a big smile came to my face!

Dear Kim,

I missed you this year at the boat show. ...I coordinate the
Pegasus Project which takes out kids onto SF Bay, both school students and youth-at-risk. We have been exploring ways to introduce yoga into the latter's on-board curriculum on overnight voyages in the summer. see www.pegasusproject.org and http://picasaweb.google.com/pegasusvoyages

We have our first yoga voyage tomorrow to raise money for China
earthquake survivors! See: http://www.yogamandalastudio.com/index.htm

I gave your book to the instructor (who is a sailor) to think through
postures on a-symmetric surfaces etc.

Let us know if you are in the Bay Area...we'd love to take you out.

Regards,

Peter Hayes

Namaste Kim,

I am enjoying your book for the creative ways you have shared for doing the exercises on board. It was always such a puzzle to me how to fit the asanas into the curves and corners on our boat during cruises. .... I’d never dared to take my practice above decks, so thanks for the encouragement I found in your book. I suffer from fibromyalgia and arthritis since my 40s.......I am, oh, so painfully aware that I am not the same body as did yoga on the beach in Mexico in the 70s.

While I liked to use CDs from Lilas – my generation is definitely showing here – for my home practice, cranking up my laptop can be a pain. Since I’ve received your book, I have been using it at home as well, as it needs no booting and the pictures can be seen without my eyeglasses, much appreciated.

My husband impressed me with this Mother’s Day present, because it showed he was planning ahead, as evidenced by your autograph, and the thoughtfulness of solving my dilemma of yoga on board. Plus then my daughter and fiancé also used my delight at Dad’s gift to order your pants and shirt for my birthday two weeks later (and a pair for herself).

I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to write a so clearly articulated and illustrated yoga manual. I look forward to many more years of yoga. I always lost such ground on our vacation cruises, but thanks to your book, that is a thing of the past.

Peace and love, joy and yoga,

Tricia K.

"I long for the solitude of a sunset at sea, and the chill of the breeze coming in with the eve.

For the motion of my boat, as she swings on her rode, and the beauty of the stars, in the evenings last glow."
