thai 1 Thai-Yoga Bodywork

Natural therapy for flexibility, relaxation and energy balance.

By pressing, pulling, stretching and manipulating the body, both the joints and the soft tissues are affected as well as alleviating pain and increasing vitality. Thai-Yoga bodywork is one of the most ancient of the healing arts, coming from traditional Thai medicine evolving for well over 1000 years.

Thai-Yoga bodywork is a member of the whole family of Oriental bodywork, being based on the intrinsic energy flow and energy balance theory of health and healing. Working not only with the muscles, tendons and joints, the energy channels known as Sen, Qi or Prana are considered and treated as well. When blockage occurs within these energy channels pain and disease are present. By systematically opening each of the channels the system can function optimally and energy distribution is balanced, creating feelings of happiness, relaxation and energy.

Sometimes called passive yoga, many of the positions are similar or identical to many yoga asana. This is the ulitmate lazy and simple way of obtaining all the benefits of yoga and more - without having to do it yourself!

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? Thai-Yoga bodywork is done fully clothed lying on a Thai mat which is about 3" in thickness. Beginning on your back, moving onto each side, onto your front and sometimes from a seated position, your pracitioner will lift, press, pull and stretch each part of your body from your legs to your earlobes.
